Karey & Bob Basche, 🚴🏼 Retired Educators "Our experience with the EZ Bike Project was one of ease and convenience. We met Nancy at the bike locker and found her easy to talk to and enthusiastic. She readily took charge teaching us skills and key safety points while riding through city traffic. Thrilled by a multi-generational ride experience with Nancy, our family purchased 3 e-bikes within months. Our son-in-law rides to work, our daughter does Farmer’s Market shopping every Saturday, their teens ride to school and meet up with friends and my husband and I have joyfully increased our biking hours. Our Nancy is a true gem at creating and executing our city program."

Co-Founders of Top5ebikes
Our mission at Top5ebikes is to help our friends and followers navigate the complex and exciting world of e-bikes and e-bike manufacturers so they can make smarter buying decisions. We do this by creating fun, engaging content in hopes of not only educating but also building a vibrant community of fellow e-bike lovers. We’re always testing new e-bikes and it has been great working with Nancy to try out e-bike models we wouldn’t otherwise have access to. The EZ Bike Project provides an extremely valuable service to the SB community and we’d love to see it replicated in as many cities as possible.
Jaime Fior, UCSB Employee I was able to borrow an e-bike for the weekend from the
EZBike project in 2021 (I got lucky when there was a cancellation, it was a popular program and was always booked when I tried to reserve a bike online). I loved it! Having the chance to practice commuting before buying my own e-bike was very helpful and encouraging. Buying my own e-bike was an investment for me, so being able to experience it myself first and ask lots of questions helped me know it was definitely what I wanted, and well worth the money. I am now a very happy owner of my own e-bike and use it to commute to work and run everyday errands.
Mark Friedlander, Alternative Transportation Manager, Santa Barbara County
Nancy was instrumental in making the EZBike Project a reality in Santa Barbara. As a staunch bike and environmental advocate, Nancy brought the same passion to her role as Manager of the EZBike Project leading everything from procurement to website development to customer success. Thanks to Nancy’s dedication, the EZBike Project provided local residents with a no cost, no strings attached, introduction to e-bikes – a fun, healthy, and zero-emission alternative to private automobiles.
Valerie Lent, French Teacher, Dos Pueblos HS
"I was so thankful to be able to try out a dozen e-bikes and get educated about their differences! I was able to buy the perfect one for my commuting needs, and now I use my e-bike every day."
