Components of a Lending Project

Give people an e-bike experience!  Test ride at a showcase or check one out for a multi-day loan and get a real sense of the difference it makes to commute, carry cargo, haul kids or simply run errands with an e-bike.  Participants gain knowledge and confidence to consider using an e-bike as a means of transportation.  For the physically challenged an e-bike is often the only option for personalized & sustainable mobility.   

In our car-centric society it's imperative that we educate and assist people in making the mental transition to using a bike/e-bike for transportation.  Teaching participants about the bike itself, urban cycling skills and routing are the best places to start. Bike lending plus education can create micro-mobility momentum in your community.  Electric bike converts will become your champions. 

People sometimes consider e-bikes expensive, but compared to what?  Electric bikes are extremely affordable, especially when comparing them to car transport!   Change the conversation.

Creating community inspires people to do replace car trips on their own and become e-bike champions.  Host Taco Tuesdays,  monthly group rides, incorporate e-bikes into bike month, support bike to work and school programs to create a sense of community in the electric bike world.  

Federal and state rebates and incentives for electric bikes are coming.  Create a lending project to disseminate those rebates as well as provide necessary education about bike safety,  commuting, community events and workforce opportunities . 

Having an easily duplicatable system makes the implementation of e-bike lending centers easier and more efficient.
